APE 2011

We got a half table at APE in SF, and it was fun. Sold some books, but bought way more stuff. So many good artists and amazing art.

Highlight: meeting Rebecca Sugar and Scott C. =D I turn into a blubbering fool, but they were awesomely sweet about it.

Sketch: Parasite

Quick Warm up sketch. Parasite attached itself to a spine of an animal, controlling it and using it's digestive organs, as the parasite doesn't have any itself.

I have not done fan art in forever. I haven't had time to geek out, but recently...I've fallen in love with MLP: FIM. That's right, My Little Pony.

Nights Project: Aladdin the Puppet FINISHED!

FINALLY finished with this illustration. Been working on this for MONTHS. I had the worst artist block with this piece. 

This was from my take of the frame story in the Arabian Nights. The Vizier turned mad and twisted, scorned by his wife's betrayal. Instead of killing a newly wed wife every night he maims and disfigures her until he sees her no longer as a person and he keeps them around as his pets. 

The heroin Scheherazade learns of his madness, and keeps him at bay with her stories, this one in particular is Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. 

Nights Project: Bulbul Hezar Finished!

4th image of the Talking Bird in the last tale of the Arabian Nights. The bird is one of 3 treasures, which she takes home as well; the Talking Bird, the Singing Tree, and the Golden Water.

All 3 are depicted here in the manner that she took home, a twig from the tree and a flask of the water. The bird itself fell enamored with the princess and allowed her to take him home.
